Got some great news yesterday: I was selected to participate in a US/UK Exchange program for Early Career Engineers and Scientists. The premise is that if we can meet early in our careers, we will initiate more effective collaborations. In May, the UK engineers and scientists will come over to the US and as a group, we travel across the country to visit our Department of Defense, and in September, we will travel across the pond to visit the Ministry of Defence. It sounds like something out of Harry Potter, but I thrilled for this opportunity.

EL Chili Cookoff meets March Madness
School themed chili cookoff was just the ticket to getting folks out of their offices for a rare social event over lunch last week. My entry was Oklahoma State inspired "Shoulda Been a Cowboy" Chili--it was all meat & no beans! I didn't win any of the categories, but got a few compliments. The pot was empty at the end, and that was victory enough for me. Below is Jessica's Rebel Roadkill Chili. Kansas inspired entry won best overall, so let's see how they fare on the Courts.

It Ain't Easy Being Green
was the theme of the 2010 Mal's St Patrick's Day parade. The weather cooperated on the last day of winter and good times were had by all.

Saturday Night Special
I won't discuss the moving, those posts will come soon. I was determined to make an appearance on the front porch this weekend, and luckily the ladies let me. I also managed to steal away with Mr. David Allen Mitchell for a couple of hours. Olivia kept him happy for a while, then he demanded that we dance with him. Finally, he gave in to the power of the drink (enfamil) and crashed on the glider. He is going to fit in with this crowd just fine! I can't wait until our next date, once he returns from Georgia.
