On a Sunday Afternoon...

One of my favorite jay clark songs and the subject of today's post. In an effort to both clean out my cupboards, freezer, etc and spend time with friends, I asked L&O to host an early afternoon gathering. They agreed, Lauchlin "swept" the patio & MB put David in his team uniform. We had lots of good snacks, the last of the cobia from 2009 and modified macaroni salad in honor of Aunt Deb's birthday!

Pack & Play: no babies involved

The time has come to begin the dreaded packing process. I am scheduled to move by 13 March, so the boxes are creeping in, the stars are off the wall, and the Goodwill should have a good haul. I am putting some black bean chili together in the crock pot, and the doors are open if folks have a hankering to pitch in. I did learn that records fit perfectly into wine boxes, and don't allow you to pack it too heavy. Plus they are free outside of Far East Liquor Store.

You are my Sunshine

My good friend and former roommate, Sunshine, passed away peacefully today, surrounded by her loved ones. I will always have many fond memories of her puppyhood at the apartment at Nottingham. My thoughts and prayers are with her many friends and family as they find their way forward. I love this picture because it looks like she is winking, and I am a huge fan of the wink.

Safety First

On the last day in Belgium, we traveled to the Port of Antwerp for a tour of the currently constructed facility for dredged material. The large green structure is a mechanical press for creating large "sheets" of material for disposal. It's Italian. We had to get all safety-ed up, and you can even see my head steaming.

Lunch with Team Kennedy

I may have been a little drowsy from the flights, but never too tired to have lunch on Friday with friends. Jessica, Liz and I were treated to lunch with all of Team Kennedy, including the not-so-newborn Will. He tolerated the oohs and aaahhhs, passing around the table and photograhs. I will enjoy being in South County through the summer, which is right around the corner from Al & Christina. I am sure they will need me to babysit.

Today was boring, but

I still have more pictures from Sunday to post. Above is Grand Place, where we had waffles, and where Cam requested I go and drink a Stella for him. I think he was here in a much warmer time of year, since outdoor seating is not currently an option. Below picture is me in front of this strangely popular fountain, Mannequin Pis, which is quite disappointing (as Liz told me it would be), but it is located right next to a chocolate shop. It is nice to think about this day, when I was in meetings for 9+ hrs today (YAWN).
