Mississippi Tourism

We don't get a lot of visitors in July, for some reason, but Mom and Donovan made the trek recently and we enjoyed them tremendously! We hit the mall, Mlm found a dress for the wedding, but Donovan did not prevail with the claw game.

He did, however, win at most other games he convinced Barrett and I to play: Jenga, Connect Four, Skip Bo, Yahtzee and Redneck Wisdom, the Duck Dynasty board game he brought.

We even took time for some hot and humid history in the Park.

The best part was the sliding down the stairs at the Illinois monument.

Spotted at the Suds and Smokes

While Barrett was fueling up earlier today, I speed this guy on the outside of the building. I snapped a couple of shots and then tapped my terrestrial invertebrate experts or general know everything people. I got a hit from Nate that this would either be a hawk moth or a sphinx moth. I did some searching and found this great moth ID tool on the Miss State website. That meant I could ID this guy as a pandorus sphinx moth. 

Engagement Party!

It's no secret, I like a party. This weekend, the Lopers threw Barrett and I an engagement party in Ridgeland and it was so much fun! The food was amazing, the company was even better. We all missed Mom, though and are sorry she couldn't make it. On that note, please pray for Uncle Jerry!

Poor Bernadette took shelter under the ottoman during most of the weekend. 

And the Pokey Pickup Rides Away...

Bernadette and I drove the truck to Brandon last week to sell. But not before we hauled a load of donations to the Salvation Army! 

Someone called 15 minutes after we parked it and a deal was struck! I'll miss the truck but feel better knowing it will be used to grow someone's business.

Floating is All I want to Do

We took to the water all day Saturday, renting a pontoon boat and working on my captain skills! Jatolia is a massage therapist and Barrett was first in line after we managed to convince him to join us. 

Also, Ashlin and Emma spent a couple of hours with us, driving, floating and enjoying their first outing on the Reservoir!
