After receiving a raclette for Christmas (thanks Mom & Dad!), I have been anxious to have some folks over to enjoy it. On Saturday, there was a parade downtown to commemorate MLK and Obama. The weather probably affected the number of people who showed up, but we were happy it ended a bit early so we could get back inside and onto eating. The challenge, as you might be able to tell from the picture, is that it is meant for 8 people or less, but I managed to invite 10 (plus me). It was a lot of fun, everyone pitched in to help and we enjoyed some good food. We ended the evening with a fierce game of Catch Phrase. This game never fails, and I highly recommend it! It has inspired Al to create his "quote of the day" spreadsheet. Stay tuned for future entries.

Day Tripper
Without much advance planning, we have been finding reasons to get out of town and explore some of the nearby cities and sights. In December, we traveled to Port Gibson for a great lunch and a tour of Windsor Ruins. This month, we braved the cold and made it to Natchez for Fat Mama's tamales, unofficial tours of a couple of the plantation homes, and finally dessert and coffee at Biscuits & Blues. Lots of fun, less than an hour away, and another one off the list.
