It's (Getting More) Official!

I just thought I had a house under contract on 2 April, turns out it was just an accepted offer. Now we have haggled on price, been through home inspection and the associated addendums, finalized terms of lending, and NOW I have a house under contract. This is a shot of one of my favorite things, the former greenhouse, which will be updated and partially converted to outdoor kitchen.

Weekend Warrior

Based on the lack of blogging, and well, my overall disposition, the 2 weeks following my vacation have not been fun. Further evidenced by my working on a weekend. Inconceivable, right? Well, I opted to make the best of it. Millie opted for a shady spot, she burns easily.

The Aftermath

The week after vacation is tough. It's tougher if you are stupid. I don't expect you to feel sorry for me, but maybe it explained the lack of posting. There have been house inspections, long drives to meso-Alabama for viewing of retrofitted hatching facilities for a new project, busted delivery of key lime pies (sorry!), % discussions of mortgage lending. I am going to pause to remember the vestiges of last week and smile as I think of my best friend, Jenny & her husband coming to town this weekend! There will be lots of laughs in the next 48 hrs. Blog posts will improve, just stay tuned.

Fun on Two Wheels

Michelle and I put our lives on the line and rented scooters to circumnavigate Key West last Wednesday. We had SO much fun. I was a little (no, a lot) wobbly at first, and managed to get a car to honk in anger for not using my signal, but all in all, I survived unharmed. The long sleeved shirt was bought for sunscreen, not to cover up scrapes and bruises.

Lots of fish to add to my life list today, including mahi mahi (dolphin fish) and almaco jacks. Great day, lots of fish, soooo tired.

Making Good Friday GREAT

I have a house under contract! This picture is a view from the backyard, the site of what will someday be the outdoor kitchen. It has been a week of ups and downs, but what a way to end it! I got the news while hanging out on the Front Porch with friends. How could it have been better? Admittedly, it was hard to sleep last night with all the excitement, but a 6 am flight waits for no one.

Time to unplug for the spring vacation

I will be off line for a week or so, and you might see me show up on this blog occasionally, like a crossover TV show or something. I won't be in northwest Florida, rather some little island further southeast. I have heard cell phone coverage is limited, at least that is what I told work.

Despite being April Fool's Day, I am making an offer on this house today. Wish me luck!
