Busy Weekend

Lots of social engagements, some at my house, and poor Bernadette could barely keep up. We brewed a hazelnut brown ale on Sunday, and she was asleep at the wheel. I was not in much better shape myself.

Wow, How did your Hazelnut Brown Ale turn out? I've heard that Rogue's Hazelnut Brown Ale has won quite a few international medals. Did you use an hazelnut extract?

I toasted hazelnuts, ground and mashed them in with the grains. I could taste the hazelnuts and even pick them up in the nose, but when I tested gravity recently, those flavors had faded some. I may add some hazelnut extract to boost those flavors.
